A SPIRITUALLY-EXPANSIVE EXPLORATION OF SELF & SERVICE IN THE HIMALAYAS
NOVEMBER 3rd - 13th, 2019
Join Wild Rising this fall for a writing, meditation, and yoga retreat to Nepal, where we will explore what it means to live a fully activated life through community and shared practice.
On this trip, we will:
Visit spiritual landmarks and sacred sites throughout Nepal, like ancient temples and monasteries;
Trek through stunning and breathtaking regions of the lower Himalayas;
Explore Buddhist and Hindu cultures close-up, visiting with local lamas and engaging directly with communities;
Spend time working together in service;
Be led through guided writing exercises aimed at helping us identify and activate our own unique purposes and offerings to the world;
Engage in daily yoga and meditation practices, with a heavy focus on Kundalini yoga, pranayama, and silent meditation.
NOTE: This is not a luxury yoga retreat!
This is a trip for those looking to step out of the norm and embark on a unique and spiritually-charged adventure. We aim to provide the best possible accommodations, but travelers can expect to live in a more rugged way while in country.
We find that most of our travelers cherish this opportunity to step away from the bells and whistles of modern life and live more simply for a few days. The focus of our time together, particularly in the mountains, will be firmly on self-exploration, connection among the group, service, and our practice. (That said, there will be time for shopping and eating while in Kathmandu.)
Culturally, Nepal is home to people from both Hindu and Buddhist backgrounds, and traveling through this landscape is to experience both the sacred and the holy.
REGISTRATION OPENs IN Mid-FEBRUARY.
Dates: Nov. 3-13, 2019 (Note: The dates reflect our in-country itinerary. Depending on the route, travelers will need to fly out of the US 1-2 days in advance to arrive in KTM on the 3rd.)
NOTE: Cost of international flight, visas, and other required pre-departure expenses are not included. Price covers all in-country logistics, like lodging, meals, guides, etc.
